Three One Acts (Drama)
Synopsis
THE REAL HOUND INSPECTOR – DIRECTOR: Russ Hoganson
Rave reviews greeted this long one act masterpiece of farce when it was recently revived in London with Peter Shaffer’s black comedy. Feuding theatre critics Moon and Birdfoot, the first a fusty philanderer and the second a pompous and vindictive second stringer, are swept into the whodunit they are viewing. In the hilarious spoof of Agatha Christie like melodramas that follows, the body under the sofa proves to be the missing first string critic. As mists rise about isolated Muldoon Manor, Moon and Birdfoot become dangerously implicated in the lethal activities of an escaped madman.
I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS – DIRECTOR: Dick Casey
I’ll Be Home for Christmas is light and humorous, but at base it is serious and touching. Chuck and Edith discuss sex education of their almost-adult children, a girl and boy. Chuck is quite moving when he learns in a letter that his son is cutting adrift from the parental harbor.
I’M HERBERT – DIRECTOR: Dick Casey
I’m Herbert is a sketch about two old, old people sitting on a porch in a pair of rocking chairs and talking. Just talking—and of course they don’t know how funny they are. Each has had one or more previous marriages and perhaps a few flings, but they are hazy as to details. In fact, they don’t always know which one the other one is
