Season: 2011-2012
Director: Regina A. Gadotti
Genre: Musical
Show Type: Regular
Synopsis: SHE LOVES ME is such a beloved little gem that this is the fifth adaptation of the original story.
The original story, Parfumerie (by Hungarian playwright Miklos Laszlo) was adapted for the movies with the 1940 James Stewart/Margaret Sullivan film The Shop Around The Corner. In 1949, it was turned into the movie musical In the Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland & Van Johson. It would surface again in 1998, as You've Got Mail starring Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan.
Georg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during 1934 - who secretly find solace in their anonymous, romantic pen-pals - little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each other!
Funny, intelligent, honest and sentimental, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance, charm and nostalgia - yet it's as universal and relevant as ever in this age of internet dating.
